Where does the therapy take place?

Therapy is conducted in our office in downtown Bathurst, New Brunswick, where we strive to provide a relaxed and calm atmosphere for our clients. This is designed to provide you a safe and comforting place for you to share your feelings and thoughts securely and confidentially.

How do I know that I need or that I am ready for individual therapy?

As a general rule, a sign that you may need therapy is that your daily life or happiness is beginning to be affected by an experience, feeling, or issue that you want to work on.

Each individual has a unique experience when it comes to therapy, which makes it difficult to answer whether therapy is necessary. Part of the therapy process will be identifying whether you need to continue your therapy.

If you are feeling anxiety or stress in your life, you could benefit from therapy. For instance, if you are stressed about your work life, find yourself in a state of panic regularly, or your mood is significantly more negative than usual, you might benefit from therapy.

It can be very difficult to self-identify that you need therapy. In some cases, you may find it easier to rely on others to let you know if your behavior has changed. It’s okay to seek out therapy if you don’t feel that you’re completely ready. However, if you are ready for therapy, you will also be ready to work on yourself. Ask yourself the following questions to see if you’re ready for therapy:

  • Do I feel like my life is going the way I want it to right now?
  • Am I willing to start to make some changes to improve my situation?
  • Is there something specific in my life right now that is bothering me?
